چکیده

Enhanced transmission of a low intensity laser beam is observed when crossed with an identical-frequency beam in a plasma with a flow velocity near the ion sound speed. The time history of the enhancement and the dependence on the flow velocity strongly suggest that this is due to energy transfer between the beams via a resonant ion wave with zero frequency in the laboratory frame. The maximum energy transfer has been observed when the beams cross in a region with Mach 1 flow. The addition of frequency modulation on the crossing beams is seen to reduce the energy transfer by a factor of 2. Implications for indirect-drive fusion schemes are discussed. @S1070-664X~99!94205-2#

Longitudinal and Transversal Vibration Response of Beams by Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA)

The useful and efficient method of Finite Element (FEM) has a drawback for dynamic analysis of complex structures, especially in the medium and high frequency range. To overcome this fundamental difficulty, application of Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) and power flow technique has been suggested. As the SEA is based on the average response of structure and statistical properties of its reson...

Shape Design Optimization of Unimorph Piezoelectric Cantilever Energy Harvester

The most promising method for micro scale energy scavenging is via vibration energy harvesting which converts mechanical energy to electrical energy. Using piezoelectric cantilevers is the most common method for vibration energy harvesting. Changing the shape of the cantilevers can lead to changing the generated output voltage and power. In this work vibration energy harvesting via piezoelectri...

Study of the flexural sensitivity and resonant frequency of an inclined AFM cantilever with sidewall probe

The resonant frequency and sensitivity of an atomic force microscope (AFM) cantilever with assembled cantilever probe (ACP) have been analyzed and a closed-form expression for the sensitivity of vibration modes has been obtained. The proposed ACP comprises an inclined cantilever and extension, and a tip located at the free end of the extension, which makes the AFM capable of topography at sidew...
